Where these numbers come from

The upgrade costs in this calculator — food, wood, stone, iron and upgrade time for each building level — were extracted from the kingshot.net building database in April 2026 and are marked with a verification status in our data files. Most levels are confirmed; the handful we could not confirm (for example one Town Center stone cost) are flagged as estimates in the source rather than silently guessed. That marking discipline is the same one used across the site — see our methodology page for how we score data confidence.

Reading the results well

• Costs are per level step — upgrading "from level 20" means the cost of going 20 → 21. Select a range to see the summed bill for a whole push.
• Gold only enters the picture at Truegold construction tiers; regular levels 1–30 cost the four base resources. For TG-tier requirements use the dedicated Truegold Calculator, whose table was cross-checked value-by-value against a second independent source.
• Upgrade times shown are base times before any construction-speed bonuses, so treat them as a ceiling. Feed the total into the Speedup Calculator to see whether your inventory covers the queue.
• If your stockpile falls short, the Resource Planner converts the deficit into hours of production at your current rates.
