How to choose a Kingshot kingdom: what to look for, and how a transfer works

Short answer

We found no Help Center article on how a new account is placed in a kingdom, so we cannot say whether you choose at install. What we can source is how a transfer works, and our own guides on what a young kingdom and an old kingdom are like.

We give no opening dates for any kingdom, because we have no verified ones.

Checked 2026-10-22 against the Kingshot Help Center articles on Kingdom Transfer and our own kingdom guides.

How to choose

  • Age. Our server age guide describes a young kingdom as one where everyone starts together and power is not yet set, and an old one as established and hard to enter alone. That is our guide’s view, not the publisher’s, and its ages are rough.
  • Activity. A kingdom is only as good as the alliances in it. Look for alliances that recruit, talk and take part in events.
  • Alliance fit. Language, time zone and how serious the alliance wants to be matter more day to day than the kingdom’s number.
  • Your goal. A young kingdom gives you a fair start, an old one gives you experienced teammates. Neither is a rule.

The last three points are our suggestions, not sourced facts. Some players advise joining a brand-new kingdom. We found no publisher statement about it either way, so it is an opinion, not a rule.

If you already play and want to move

The Help Center describes a kingdom transfer in three phases: a pre-transfer phase in which the King may set a Power Cap for incoming governors, an invitational phase in which Kings can invite governors early, and a phase in which transfers open. Governors who exceed a kingdom’s Power Cap need a Special Invite from that kingdom’s King. The Help Center also says Leading Kingdoms and Ordinary Kingdoms have different transfer limits, and that Leading Kingdoms cannot issue Special Invites. Read together, those two articles leave a gap: we cannot say what route a governor above the cap has into a Leading Kingdom.

Our transfer almanac and kingdom directory hold a snapshot of the transfer window of 13 to 20 September 2026, which is already past. Their group ranges were read on 2026-09-08 from a third-party site and are labelled there as a secondary source, not confirmed in game. They are not the publisher’s data and not a current answer, so confirm in your in-game transfer screen.

What about a second account?

The Terms page says nothing about multiple accounts. That is silence on one page, not permission and not a rule, and we make no ruling. The Terms do say an account is unique to you and may not be made available to others, so do not give one to anyone and do not use anyone else’s.

What we do not recommend

Buying an account is not a way to get a better start. See the page on buying an account for what the Terms say.

Questions people ask

Which Kingshot kingdom should I start on?

We found no source that says which is best. Our guide describes young kingdoms as a fair start and old ones as established. Choose for activity and alliance fit. See the server age guide.

Is it better to join a new kingdom?

Some players say so. The publisher says nothing we could find, so it is an opinion. Our server age guide describes the advantages of starting together.

How does a kingdom transfer work?

The Help Center describes three phases and a Power Cap, with a Special Invite from the target kingdom’s King for governors above the cap. The Help Center also says Leading Kingdoms cannot issue Special Invites, so we cannot say what an above-cap governor does there.

Can I choose my kingdom when I install Kingshot?

We found no Help Center article that answers it, so we cannot say.

What we could not confirm: the current transfer window and groups, since the pages we link hold a past snapshot from a third-party site; how a new account is assigned to a kingdom, whether and when new kingdoms open, any kingdom’s opening date, and whether a second account is allowed, since the Terms are silent and the Help Center has no article.
